Level 3 RN Endoscopy/Gastrointestinal

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM; on-call required for overnights and weekends. Flexibility to work 5, 8-hour shifts or 4, 10-hour shifts.

Job Description

The Level 3 RN in Endoscopy/Gastrointestinal will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures. The RN will collaborate with the medical team to ensure a safe and effective procedural environment.

Responsibilities

• Answering patient questions and addressing their concerns.
• Observing patient vital signs throughout procedures.
• Administering sedation to patients prior to procedures.
• Recovering and monitoring patients after procedures.
• Administering necessary medications to patients.
• Documenting patient notes and discharge information.
• Preparing instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Cleaning and sterilizing equipment pre-usage.
• Assisting physicians during procedures.
• Administering IV drips as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York RN license required.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association only).
• ACLS Certification (American Heart Association only).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with endoscopic procedures.
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm identification experience required.
• Expertise in conscious sedation.
• Proficient IV insertion skills.
• Experience in recovering patients from general anesthesia.
• Experience performing intake for gastrointestinal procedures.
